Dibasic Acids PDA Bio-based Polyamide

 Description

Dibasic Acids are a family of organic compounds with a chemical formula of HOOC(CH2)nCOOH. These compounds are known as 'long-chain dicarboxylic acids' when the total carbon number is greater than nine (n>7). Long-chain diacids provide greater flexibility and strength than short-chain diacids due to their ability to bend, which minimizes breakage and reduces the number of links in a polymer.

 

We produce a wide variety of high-quality long-chain diacids using bioprocesses. Our diacids are produced from paraffin through fermentation followed by purification, rather than the traditional multi-step chemical process. We have also begun trial production of certain diacids from fatty acids, a renewable feedstock. This technology will allow for the introduction of renewable versions of many commercialized products.

DC10 (Sebacic Acid)

DC12 (Dodecanedioic Acid)

Name: DC12 - Dodecanedioic Acid, DDDA, DDA; Cathay provides different  grades of DC12 (DC12P, DC12S)

PureMix & PureMix II

Applications: Corrosion Inhibitor,Adhesive Crosslinker (PureMix)

                      Metal Cutting Fluid,Cooling Fluid,Lubricants (PureMix II)


PureMix and PureMix II are two blends of long chain dibasic acids (C10-C13) used as a corrosion inhibitor in metalworking fluids and cooling fluids when neutralized with ethanol amines. Both products are over 97% long chain dibasic acids. PureMix has very good corrosion resistance when soft water is used to dilute. PureMix II provides nearly the same corrosion resistance and better hard water stability. Both products are distributed worldwide and are inventoried in China, US and Europe. The PureMix products are part of the total diacid solution offered by Cathay that includes Undecanedioic acid (DC11P), which is an excellent single diacid for corrosion resistance, and dodecanedioic acid (DC12S or DC12P) used by many companies.  

 

C-Shield 85

Name: C-Shield 85

A linear polyanhydride of dodecanedioic acid, is a very useful curing agent for epoxy and acrylic resin, improving plasticity, durability and resistance against weather effects.


Launched in April 2006, our C-Shield products are linear polyanhydrides produced from our diacids. Our C-Shield products are more reactive to other molecules than regular diacids. C-Shield products are used to produce clear powder coatings and is currently employed in certain automobile production lines of a European luxury car maker. The advantage of C-Shield as compared to regular diacids used in the production of clear powder coating is their higher melting-point, which further improves toughness and flexibility, reduces coating thickness, improves color transmission and reduces costs associated with the application of coating.


C-Shield 95

Name: C-Shield 95

A linear polyanhydride of tetradecanedioic acid, is a very useful pharmaceutical and chemical intermediate, used as curing agent for epoxy and acrylic resin, polyester modifier, and polyurethane soft foam accelerant.


Launched in April 2006, our C-Shield products are linear polyanhydrides produced from our diacids. Our C-Shield products are more reactive to other molecules than regular diacids. C-Shield products are used to produce clear powder coatings and is currently employed in certain automobile production lines of a European luxury car maker. Polyamide Salts

Name: Polyamide Salts


Development product. Currently Cathay can provide salts of any of the diacids with 1,5-pentamethylene diamine, hexamethylene diamine or sebacic diamine. A salt is a near neutral mixture of diacids and diamines suitable for the polymerization autoclave.


Typically, are non hazardous. Shipping classification varies as to product.
